From our Content Strategist, Catherine Reus:
I’m currently obsessing over The Gilded Age, so you can imagine how excited I was to find out there is a companion podcast that breaks down the real history of the 1880s and speaks to the cast members about preparing for and filming the show.
The following dialogue practically jumped out of my car speakers this morning as I was driving to work and thinking about content for POE (Professional Office Environments) | St. Louis for the rest of Q4.
Tom Meyers: “How did the location and the sets help you get into Character? How did they transport you into the Gilded Age?”
Morgan Spector: “All of our interiors are built, but they are incredible, and those spaces, I don’t know, when you walk into Grand Central and walk into that main hall, you feel taller, I mean, you breathe differently, you walk differently. There is just something about the way that those spaces invite your body to sort of expand.”
Morgan goes on to explain how the detail and accuracy of the set design and filming locations are their own characters that play their part alongside the actors and influence how they do their jobs.
P•O•E isn’t designing television sets, but we are designing spaces that function as their own characters alongside people’s lives. We think about the possibilities of transforming employees by creating a space that has a positive impact on how they interact with their work.
Whether it’s actors, attorneys, artists, or accountants…the spaces you interact with daily have a profound impact on how you interact with your work, colleagues, and yourself. Regardless of your industry, your space is a main character and deserves thoughtful design.
